CHEER CHANNEL’S WEB SERIES “SECRET DIARY OF AN AMERICAN CHEERLEADER” CONTINUES TO ATTRACT INDUSTRY SPONSORS
AUSTIN, Texas (April 10, 2012) CCI announced today that several more major spirit industry vendors have joined the growing list of sponsors of the upcoming Web series, “Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader.” The new sponsors are Cheerleading Stunt Stand, Ultimate All Stars, and Go! Fight! Win! Music.
“Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader” tells the story of a high school all-star cheerleader who must move to a new town with her father and little brother and fights not only to be accepted by her new squad, but is keeping a secret that could threaten her chances of competing in Nationals and a romance with the gym owner’s son.
“This Web series will be aimed right at the heart of cheerleaders everywhere but with a new spin on what we have become used to seeing in a ‘cheer’ movie,” said Executive Producer and President of Cheer Channel, Lance H. Robbins. “It is nice to know that the advertisers and brands that target our industry feel the same way.”
Since the announcement by Cheer Channel of the first ever original Web series for cheerleaders, the leaders in key product categories from apparel to accessories, cosmetics, fashion, healthy and beauty were the first to become founding sponsors. “We are thrilled to have this great group add to the luster and success of this show, all of whom are well aware of the power and positive results of brand integrated entertainment” said Robbins.
As the Spirit Industry Trade Association’s (SITA) recipient of the 2011 “Best New Product of the Year”, Cheerleading Stunt Stand is a unique product made specifically for flyers to practice their skills without their stunt crew.
"Being a sponsor of "Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader" as the "Official Equipment Sponsor", provides for us greater visibility to share the excellent training benefits of the stunt stand with more cheerleaders all over the world" said Willis Yehl, co-owner of the Cheerleading Stunt Stand.
Ultimate All Stars is a competitive cheerleading all-star program in San Mateo, California owned by Trish Blumenthal. The gym, which is small but growing in reputation and stature on the West Coast, has its teams compete throughout the year. Blumenthal explains that being a sponsor of “Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader” is “a great opportunity to offer fans an authentic look and feel of a real cheer gym and show just how hard cheerleader athletes work at their sport.”
For the past ten years, Go! Fight! Win! Music has been producing custom cheer music for some of the top teams in the spirit industry including the Los Angeles Clippers Spirit and the San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush. Go! Fight! Win! Music creates custom music mixes for each team according to their personality and attitude.
“This opportunity to create music mixes that enhance the sense of excitement and energy in a dramatic Web series such as this is an exciting and challenging project for me,” said Matt Goldberg, President of Go! Fight! Win! Music.
“Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader” will be announcing cast and special guest stars early next week, as well as a look at the behind the scenes production. The series has already been picked up for worldwide distribution by some of the biggest syndication platforms on the Internet and will be promoted and aired on more than 70 of the most popular social media
