The Dallas School Board voted last Monday to retain high school cheerleading coach Suzanne Powell despite complaints from some parents about Powell bullying and intimidating the cheerleaders. Powell responded at the time that she wasn't exactly sure what was going on or why, but that she wouldn't perform such acts to any of the girls on her team because she loves them all. On Monday, Michael Alves said his wife, Lisa, and their daughters received a letter from the district's solicitor, Benjamin Jones III, which indicated their behavior had been fine at the March 11 meeting.
